Following is a list of questions most frequently asked by our clients.

How can I get information about my loan?

If you have a loan that is serviced by CHIF, you can obtain information about your loan by providing us with the following information:

Loan Number

  • Property Address
  • Names of borrowers listed on the loan documents
  • Social Security Number(s) or Taxpayer Identification Number of the borrower(s)
  • Daytime telephone number where we can contact you if additional information is required
  • Information you are requesting
  • Where you want the information sent

Normal response time for written requests is about two business days after we receive your request.

How do I make my loan payments to CHIF ?

You can make your payments to CHIF by mail, in person or through our Automatic Payment Drafting Service.
By Mail:  CHIF provides its loan customers with a coupon book that usually contains twenty-four monthly payment slips.  Self-adhesive mailing labels are provided in the book for you to use when mailing your payment to CHIF.
Please make your check payable to CHIF. Remember to reference your loan number on your check and mail your payment and coupon to:

Automatic Payment Drafting: As a time saving convenience to our customers, and to give you the assurance that your payment will be made on time, CHIF provides the option of Automatic Payment Drafting. This service is provided free of charge. All you need to do is complete the Automatic Payment Drafting form included at the end of this section and attach a voided check. Please return the signed form and voided check to:

This service takes approximately forty-five (45) days to process. CHIF will notify you in writing when the process is complete and the date we will begin automatic drafting of your account. I've lost  my coupon book, what should I do?

If you have misplaced your coupon book, you are still required to make your loan payments on time. You can mail your payments to CHIF without a coupon slip. Please remember to reference your loan number on your check and include a daytime phone number where we can reach you if we have any questions.

  • Write us a note requesting a new coupon book when you mail your payment to CHIF

  • Be sure to include your loan number, mailing address and daytime phone
    number where we can contact you if additional information is needed.
    CHIF's coupon books are produced once a month.

 

How can I get information on paying off my loan?

All loan Pay Off Requests must be made in writing with signature authorization from the borrower. Requests should be faxed to CHIF's Loan Servicing Department at:

Include the following information on your request:

  • Borrowers' names
  • Borrowers' Social Security Numbers or Taxpayer Identification Number
  • Property address
  • Loan number (if available)
  • Pay off date (date CHIF will receive the pay off funds)
  • Provide CHIF with the company name, contact name, telephone number and fax number to send back the pay off information.

Normal response time for all requests will be processed within two business days after receipt of the request.

Note: CHIF services loans for various investors. Some have certain conditions regarding the pay off. Be sure to read the pay off letter carefully. Provide CHIF with information where the Lien Release should be mailed at the time of your request.

How can I obtain a Verification of Mortgage (VOM) and 12-Month Payment History?

CHIF will provide a verification of your mortgage upon receipt of a written request from another lending institution.  The request must also include the borrower signature providing authorization for the release of this information. Include the following information in your request:

  • Borrowers' names
  • Borrowers' Social Security Numbers or Taxpayer Identification Number
  • Property address
  • Loan number (if available)
  • Provide CHIF with the company name, contact name, telephone number and fax number to send back the information.
